The Parlour Series - Winter 2026
The Bookneck Parlour Series is a season of intimate literary gatherings inspired by the slower social traditions of the Regency era. Think candlelit conversation, correspondence and creativity somewhere between a Jane Austen novel and a winter literary salon, culminating in a Regency-inspired Winter Assembly.
Launching Winter 2026 on the Mornington Peninsula, we're currently shaping the inaugural season, with gatherings expected to include:
commonplace books and literary correspondence
literary salons
watercolour and botanical evenings
parlour games
beginner-friendly social dance evenings
candlelit gatherings and a Winter Assembly
If this sounds like your kind of thing, be sure to sign up to our mailing list for early invitations and season announcements.
Winter Parlour No. 1: Keeping a Commonplace Book
Thursday 9 July 2026
Mount Martha House, Mount Martha
$39 | Limited to 12 guests
Join us for the first gathering in the Winter Parlour Series: an intimate evening exploring the lost art of the commonplace book.
Part literary journal, part scrapbook, part cabinet of curiosities, a commonplace book is a place to collect quotations, observations, poems, sketches and fragments worth keeping.
Over tea, conversation and candlelight, we'll create our own commonplace books and begin filling their pages together.
