The Literary Picnic

Presented by Bookneck
at Mulberry Hill
5pm Sunday, 14th February, 2027

Join Bookneck at Mulberry Hill (home of Picnic at Hanging Rock author, Joan Lindsay) for an evening of books, ideas, and conversation that may well stop the clocks.

Set among the gardens where one of Australia’s most enduring literary mysteries was written, The Literary Picnic brings together readers, writers, and curious minds for a twilight gathering shaped by story, atmosphere, and the landscapes that stay with us.

Who, what, where, when, and how…

This is one for the Valentines, Galentines, book clubbers, and lovers of literary mysteries, beautiful gardens, and meandering conversations that outlast the daylight.

Visit the famous Mulberry tree, tour the house where Picnic at Hanging Rock was (quite literally) dreamed up, and peruse the book truck before settling in for the main event.

As twilight falls, and picnic baskets lighten, bask in an evening of lively discussion as local authors and experts explore the relationship between storytelling and place.
